Special days filled with rays of sunshine;
Passing humming birds and gentle kitten purrs,
Moonlit starry nights just right for open doors,
Evening walks and friendship talks,
Hugs and sharing all around, tears and laughter
Weighed in pounds of Love and understanding
Mounting from the counting of our blessings.
For within each others eyes we recognize
The goodness God has meant for us
To know in one another;
Gathered gifts of giving hearts
That lead us toward the growing parts
Of beauty's awe and wonder.
So indeed we are
Creatures of our God's creation
Meant to fill His purpose
And abide His station.
Yet what purpose does exist
Beyond the bliss of Love's sweet kiss?
This most simple "word" of measure
Hides the greatest challenge ever!
Not for granted dare we take
"Love" in splendor's blinding wake,
But rather pray the path we take
Will lead us toward God's Loving gate.
