I fought the world
to get to you
I got no time
to play the fool
girl going back
ain't nothing new
you can beat carpet dust
but can't heal the wounds
forget me not baby
I have no doubts
catch up with me
when you figure it out
it takes a hurricane
to stop the rain
takes a real kiss
to heal the pain
I remember once
long long ago
I was soft as cotton
thinking I was mean as stone
funny how words hurt you
funny how silence speaks
you spend a life time climbing
but there ain't no peak
