England sent lots of their criminals of the day
To a country where they were to stay
A country where nothing they thought existed
And look at Australia today
They not only survived ever so many
Though the going there was more than tough
They proved that they had special stamina
This lot supposed to be rough
Australia today it stands so proud
With its streak of a toughness hard to find
And all created by convicts of yesterday
That had to leave their loved home land behind
They worked and they built all the hard way
From almost nothing now a country so grand
They built on the rock with sheer determination in stock
Without the today's supply and demand
With axe and with shovel pick and crow bar
While at the same time often in ankle chain
A whole lot of souls from a time now called old
We will never see such hard work again
They alone created AUSTRALIA
And did it in sweat tears and grind
And England thought that they would all die
But that was so wrong they did find
AUSTRALIA you came from sheer hard workers
And thanks to them all you now are
From a whole bunch of what England called convicts
Now England can put that thought in a jar
AUSTRALIA was created from the ground up
By workers like again we will not see
That as well had sheer determination
To one day again all be free ..
