BUTTER BEAMS
Streams of melted butter beams
Borrow the morning skies
Bringing with their seasoned prayers
Life to wake the butterflies.
The final fugue of Winter's song
Falls silent to the Master's cares
As unchained mimes of mating calls
Blush away the icy air.
And as the biting breezes tamed
And nestled in the naked trees,
The old Ones sent their warming gaze
To stir all hearts with ease.
I stood there in the sun-showered morn
Blinded by a spider's lace,
Until the kiss of butter beams
Lifted up my shadowed face.
