Renewal

The quietening melodies of Heaven
Stole into her limpid blue eyes
That gazed into mine through windows of dreams.
I could not imagine such beauty unappreciated
But she had allowed the sacred to be tainted
By the rough touch of earthly passions.
I knew her as some Angel from ancient skies
Chanting in the choir of a better world
Where all was calm with summer mystery.
Deep within me I longed to understand
How such loveliness could ever fade away
As cruel time stole away her innocence.
But as I meditated upon the Divine visage
I began to see with a new found clarity
That everything connected to her was transforming
That decay and death do not touch beauty
And that one day she will find her renewal.
