 The Beggar
In this busy street I see everyday
I always pass by along the way
a heart wrenching sight I had today
I watched a while and bear the delay.

Preparing his musical instruments
a guitar, drum, accordion, and other components
the sweat-dripping efforts take him few moments
then sits like a king, I wish to give him compliments.

Starting with a single strum of his guitar
singing his heart out with voice so spectacular
foot beats the drum lever laying perpendicular
a single man show befitting performance in a bar.

Days rolled into weeks entertaining passersby
he's unaware many people are asking why
he's physically handsome but looks awfully shy
once he stops singing always heaving a deep sigh.

One day, his spot was noticeably empty
all familiar of him wonder where could he be?
Standing at the bus stop, a car door opened for me
ducking behind the wheel, the beggar smiling happily.

I got into the car following his offer to drive me home
I figured out he's a blind man, the rest unknown
he drives the latest and expensive Volkswagen
he later confessed being a cop officer in action.
