My Vacation
She met me at the airport,
I kissed her she kissed me.
Her in all her beauty,
I felt glad just to be.
As she drove the freeway,
Her smile was ear to ear.
She's really glad to see me,
The joy was bringing tears.
Now my heart's going crazy,
There sitting next to me.
Was my very best friend,
Alive for me to see.
We went here and there,
I got to meet her dad.
With him we sat and had a talk,
The best I ever had.
My friend was very loving,
It made me feel at ease.
Her daughter drew a picture,
She made it just for me.
We traveled to the beach,
50 miles that isn't far.
We walked along a boardwalk,
Catching memories in a jar.
The love we find we're keeping,
It causes her to smile.
Together we are blending,
I want to stay awhile.
We go back to her father's,
Watched a show or two.
The love that covers all of us,
Had no chance to be blue.
I tried to think of something,
I thought would make her glow.
At the store she tried on clothes,
Gave me a fashion show.
She got into the moment,
Posing here and there.
The grin that was on her face,
There's nothing that compares.
I knew right there and then,
What this was all about.
All the love we had hidden,
Has found a sweet way out.
At the plane I kissed her,
Holding her so tight.
I whispered I would return,
And I flew into the night.
That was my vacation,
I wouldn't change a thought.
We spoke of what we wanted,
Our love and all it brought.
