 The Mystery is Gone
Facts and numbers in my face;
pushing the sterile reality on me.
Whimsy, romance, passion gone;
stark, naked, lifeless, colorless;
stripped clean of the intrigue.
The mystery is gone.
The playful window dressings,
decorations and adornments.
Where is that world I once knew?
The world of magic overlooked;
the full moon's shadows dancing.
The mystery is gone.
Security, safety, snug as a bug;
Complete disclosure needed.
No more surprises, bland, soulless;
Protection at the cost of privacy.
All is well, my friends… but…
The mystery is gone.
