Long ago,our astronomers noticed it in the sky.It appeared to be the brightest star in the heavens.
The star seemed special in some way,in that it out shined all the other stars combined. As time passed, and our technology grew,we became more curious about this spectical in the night's sky. Our scientist had developed a telescope that could breech the distance between us and the star. We would now have a glimpse into a world never seen before. A world before now only imagination could conceive. What would we discover? The first thing we noticed about the planet was it's beauty, it's serenity,it's grace. Different from our own planet in many ways. This planet was almost 3/4 water. Our planet was beautiful once. But after centuries of neglect, factors like pollution, overpopulation, starvation and global warfare our planet was left devastated and virtually devoid of life. The only life being ourselves. You could say it was our technology that destroyed us or you could say it was our technology that has kept us alive all these years. Either way we are doomed. For after years of genetic experiments on ourselves,to sustain us for life on a planet so lifeless, we have made ouselves sterile, unable to reproduce. That's why now we stretch our sights across the known universe. To this planet, much like our own planet, before the endtimes, before the destruction. You see, over the years our genetic make-up had changed. Chromosomal damage had occured. Our genetic scientists had thought of everything. Everything we needed to survive on a planet so.. without life. Our bodies, like our minds had been strengthened. Our skin, our eyes, our teeth, our heighth had all been genetically modified for survival on our barren world. The continuation of our species is very important to us. The knowledge of many a millenia has been bequithed to us be "the Elders". And is stored within our conscious minds. For us,to lose our existence, means the loss of not just ourselves, but of our knowledge of our world..our achievements, ours hopes our dreams our beliefs. For us to continue means everything. The continuation of our thoughts, our collective being. Yet our future seems uncertain now. We are hopeful someday we will be able to reproduce, to continue ourselves. There are many with different views and preceptions of what to do. Some believe in hybridizing our kind with others from similiar world's like our own. And colonize a new world. Others believe that we should play a major role in saving other world's. So that what happened to us won't happen to them. Small groups of us have done so. Some have gone to the outer worlds bringing back with them hope and joy that their leaders would cooperate with us every step of the way,in every minute detail, but would keep their plans a secret to the general public. Their leaders figured secrecy was the only way to avoid panic on a major scale. Other groups of us were not so lucky. In that they have never returned or relayed us a message on their progress. We assume that they were not so welcome and were shot down and taken prisoner. We fear for their safety. In exchange for the world's that do help us on our quest for survival we exchange our knowledge of medicinal, agricultural, and spiritual enlightenment. We can only give them technologies that will benefit their world's in a positive way,not technologies such as weapons of warfare. We have found out that these alien worlds we have visited are as curious about us as we are of them. We have often visited other worlds, quite unannounced. Their leaders have pawned off the "strange lights" that our crafts give off as weather annomolies, such as meteor showers or storm activity or weather balloon crashes or falling satelites.
