At The Seams
Drawing breath today draws near
Another faint of heart to fear
A place where peace is had no more
Familiar ground once there before
Behind the shades that cover eyes
Lurks the old, that we despise
The darker side not of the Moon
Where stars once shined but fell too soon
Seems the seams are compromised
Where guard once stood now choked by lies
Where heroes fell and fall unsound
From grace once near to hallow ground
Here a lake of fire cracks
But not of wood but souls ransacked
Here losses are cut and dry
Here unheard are shrieks and cries
At the seams will draw this day
Closer, undone, upon mind play
Another song of circumstance
Ripping at seams of second chance
Hold dear friend and know my tailor
Of every stitch and daunting failure
For by His hands once pierced for you
He mends all seams this day, anew
