Daybreak

Each word that you spoke to me now only a memory
the love that we once shared long broken in two
your smile so beautiful would look so full of sadness
till nothing of our love was left inside of you.

The night-time once garnished with dreams of surrender
passionate encounters that would rush forth each day
I was so eager and hungry to capture the moment
I never noticed of my true love as she slipped slowly away.

Now each daybreak will find me begging redemption
still pleading forgiveness as the new day will start
while hoping that one day that love will have meaning
and the beauty of daybreak breaks no more my heart.
