 ~REFLECTING MOMENTS~

LIGHT SWITCH

A thrilling serrated edge
moves across my throat

My breath is held

I press my skin
toward the cold metal
to feel the coming sting

A drop of blood trickles

Slowly escaping down my neck
my fingertip captures it
and here I taste myself

I do occupy my time
with some unusual acts
but this is my life

My minutes are evaporating

Without memories
and those with
cannot be revealed

Tell me lover
did I please you?

When I stroke your ego//

I shall never expose you
nor will I share
our dirty little indiscretions

Our rendezvous
written moments woven
between our distant sheets

Crushed upon our glass wall

Plastic burns upon your hands
and I was loving it all

I having callouses

Dust settles upon the ceiling
and I wipe my feet while walking

The wick will not light

I cannot remember when
we had our last talk?

A burned match

Somewhere between then and now
we dissolved the heat~wave
and now I have just an image

Scratching your surface

Beneath my fingernails
your skin from yesterday
an ashtray swiped clean

Your favorite wine empty
and our secret language
pressed behind our eyes

For now I wander in the dark

With broken pieces of letters
searching for a light switch
