50 Years a Mate

Ah yes, I remember you, please walk with me a while.
Your name, you know, it slipped my mind, but I seem to know your smile.
Walk with me and take my hand so I won't lose you in the crowd.
There seems to be so many people and they all talk much too loud.
Tell me how you know me, do I remind you of some one?
Maybe you could stay awhile, we're having so much fun.
I notice that your hand's adorned with a simple golden band.
I'm really glad to talk with you and walk with you hand in hand.
Why such sadness in your eyes when you smile and say you'll stay.
You know I swear I met someone just like you only yesterday.
