Those Years

As one ages there is that tendency to look back at those youthful days
Looks at the youngsters today, it is so good that such a memory stays
How one can relive those days as there is that flash back mentally
As it would not be easy to do such not even the least slightly

How in the memory, there is that walk along the cliff top
Seeing the raging see water and those jagged rocks, if there is a drop
How often the gravel slipped as it was being held so loosely
But that problem was solved as there was that youthful agility

Then those times taking canes from the plantation's ground
Having little care or fear, of the approaching watchman
Know that between the two, the age difference was great
So speed was that thing that so easily differentiate

That day when with this older man to cut some grass
He had a cutting action that made him complete his so fast
Unfortunately for us we saw the owner was approaching
He ran, and then it was his grass that I was bagging.

So when I see youngsters having a bit of fun
Doing it in such a manner that would not hurt anyone
There is nothing so great when one can appreciate a joke
What a pleasant spirit and such good health that can promote.

Now as time passes and so of course will be the years
Those same places I passed, but this time there is fear
Not even wanting to make any sort of stumble
Because of diminishing agility, there will be a tumble.
