All his friends and family knew him as jolly
A real nice guy and though nothings changed
Except he is a way lot quieter now by far
His life since being away all rearranged
Hes been home a few times on his leave
But he seems quieter every single time
A lot he simply could not would not tell
And thinks a lot as if so much on his mind
He doesn't talk too much at all any more
Most of all when he's home or so it seems
He appears often to be away when he is not
As he has seen another life and it's extremes
Keeps to himself now more often than he did
He's real friendly guy but seems somewhat alone
It's not that he wants to be this way at all
And doesn't want to upset any when he is home
He's been involved in things that he knows
A lot at home simply would never really understand
He loves his leave and his time when he's at home
But he also knows not long and it's back to his command.
