I've often written poetry so beautiful
I've often written poetry that was funny~
I've written poetry of most of my lifes travels
I've written poetry of a land of milk and honey~
And I feel a lot of the poets of today feel
That the worlds a beautiful place~
And every day come what may
Crime and war is staring us in the face~
It's so ever hard often to try and imagine
A poetic world of endless peace and love~
And to often write of all things beautiful
Or even at times to concentrate on God above~
To write always of a world of happiness
And the many things in life we all adore~
When all around us often is trauma and endless heartbreak
And too often the human race is almost all at war~
I myself do my best to use a sense of humor
And I have never told a lie deliberately to date~
Not even in the poetry that I write
And in minds I do try to open more than just one gate~
And I do know that at least poets are as well knowing
That on earth we do have problems many~
And that it gets more than just difficult at times
To write beautiful poetry all the time at times if any~
We all as poets strive to allow our souls deeply within
To speak out loud and with a poetic and open mind~
And try tell the world of the reality of life
As best we can and at times leave the worst behind~
But as time goes by on planet earth
It's getting harder for many every single day~
To always write as the oldest greats once did
As always some humans on earth will have their way~
But nothing beats the simplicity of being positive
And self honest all the very while best we can-
While at the same time seeing things as they really are
As poets at least bring some love and sanity to the ears of man-
