 Antique

I‘m getting older every moment;
Not pretty and shiny any longer.
The hair has been worn off my head;
Wrinkles surround my sunken eyes.
My skin is dry, my mind spins a wheel
Sometimes losing my train of thought.
I still run, but my pace is much slower;
 I still lift, but I'm not as strong these days.
Antique.

Worth is gained by wisdom as I walk;
No longer searching for all the answers.
I now seek only peace, I seek balance;
Value is seen in the originals of this world.
Love is now prized more than anything else;
Without love in my heart, everything is empty.
Perfect, beautiful, youthful, new, energetic?
Nope… I can only smile at that, my friends.
Antique.

If granted any wish by a genie in a bottle;
My thoughts focus on one particular desire.
My wish is to fully appreciate this very moment;
Not drifting off to relive my past achievements,
Or daydreaming about the possibilities of my future.
The worth and value of life comes in presence.
Thankful tonight as I see the human I have become;
I appreciate every moment that has created me.
Antique.
