God looked down on the earth and cried.
He wondered what he did wrong.
His tears fell from inside,
Quietened only from a bird's sweet song.
Tears fall for what He sees.
He loves to feel that summer breeze,
His heart aches for the world to find peace.
As He cries with those on bended knees,
He wonders where He went wrong,
His tears are quietened only by the bird's song.
He looks across the seven seas,
And wishes war would end and there would be peace,
The only way His heart feels sweet ease,
When all hope seems to be gone,
His tears are quietened by a bird's song.
The birds sing to His heart,
Sweet songs of love in the dark,
Carried to heaven on a gentle breeze,
A song that gives God sweet ease,
When He looks at His masterpiece,
He feels that war doesn't belong,
His tears are quietened by the bird's song.
