 once upon a time

Seems in any war the children are targeted first.
Why kill the children larking about in the streets.
Innocents marked out to be shot.
Sweep the child into your arms, say I love you.
Protect the weak against the bullets of hate.

In the maelstrom of war children warm our hearts.
Without their love we cannot ever be strong.
Future times need the children to grow in love.
Listen to the laughter of the children.
Laughter is the sound of love. A bullet only tears your heart apart.
The part we play in the child’s heart decides their future.
It’s wrong to hurt the children. They’re our hope for tomorrow.

Why kill the children? Love the children.
There is nothing in the world that’s better than love.
It’s everything we need.
Mankind loves to kill, abusing life’s skills.
The child grows up knowing only war.
They carry on the wars as all they know is hatred.
If we do not love the children then all will be as ever was; war and hate.
Love the children. In them we can find our humanity.
Teach the children to love and be loved.
