Poetry that thinks out loud

ALL CAN CHANGE

I held him close, within my arms

And I was melted by his charms;

He sure was set to change my life;

My newborn son and loving wife.

And every day I'd watch him grow

I loved the son I got to know.

The times we shared were so much fun

He grew to be my adult son.

But all can change in life, you see

And now my sons not here with me.

Throughout his life I smoked each day

And helped to take his life away.

No man should see his children die;

Now every day I'm left to cry.

My breathing took away his breath

The smoke filled air had caused his death.
