Poetry that thinks out loud

THEY CLAIMED IT ALL AND NAMED A PRICE

And here it lies in front of me

This way of life in which I see

A way of life where money rules

And most live life like mindless fools.

Our human ways are here no more;

We cannot hunt nor fish the shore;

We cannot build our homes for free;

For someone claimed all we can see.

They claimed it all and named a price

And how they claimed it was not nice.

Once men knew greed, they then knew war

And kept on taking more and more.
