Poetry that thinks out loud
UNHEARD
I speak, but I cannot be heard
For no one here can hear a word
And here, in this crowd, I'm alone
In speaking terms I'm on my own.
No matter if I shout or yelp
No one around can offer help
For they can't hear a word I say
As they all go about their day.
But from the crowd a man appeared
And looked at me, but rather weird.
He watched my lips as I spoke out
I did not even need to shout.
The crowd so loud, but still he knew
He took my hand and helped me through
And all the words that I had said,
He never heard, but read instead.
