Thanks to You My Christmas

Oh! What a great joy it was to be in church the Christmas Eve night
The garments on show to the eyes were such a great delight
Complimented by the singing of the choir, such a beautiful rendition
Our daughter's solo really had them in a mind transposition

But then I looked around for you, and seeing that empty seat
Then the reality of you not being there made the heart skipped a beat
That beautiful voice and singing was so much like that of yours
How my heart swelled and there and then my joy me overpowers

After the program she got encouragement and praise from everyone
And you too posthumously for that wonderful job you have done
Clearly you teachings have shaped her into a very responsible young lady
For this we all give thanks to you for doing such daily

At home they have the house decorated so expertly
It was family thing we all did at this time in unity
Still keep that theme out of love and respect for you
They will always say this will be certainly the best thing to do

Feeling sad but they enliven me as I assisted in the preparation
For a moment I was overawed by the event of the occasion
It seems as though you were present as that meal we cook
Use a special recipe from your unwritten and many chaptered cook-books

Then later as we sat to eat that meal which we prepared
Seeing that empty chair, this was a moment for that emotional tear
But for your time so impressive, we all day prayed of praise
I glow at that moment of happiness together, now reflecting in those children we raise

Soon Christmas will pass and the now soon due will too
But as always there will be newer and challenging things to do
Those values, morals, values and discipline you displayed and taught those children
Have been such a very positive influence, which is now a part of them

Yes Christmas is always for family a very happy occasion
Those years together were a Christmas, with you as a friend and companion
So perhaps I may now accept that though happy it's in not fraught with infinity
Therefore somewhere deep within me, I understand that this is humanity.
