His Hand of Blessing (with note)

Today I had income taxes prepared free
By a service of volunteers through AARP
Pleased with them last year so I went back
All returns double checked to verify facts

With no taxes deducted from unemployment
I could have been faced with an IRS payment
But extra out of pocket expenses that I incurred
Offset liability with added blessing of a refund

Refund is His hand of blessing in one of many ways
Car repairs can still wait He will protect me always
Now my priority is medical bills soon to come about
Funds will help meet my deductible without a doubt

Last Friday I saw a specialist for my weak voice
I discussed with him filing disability as my choice
He agreed but also wanted a CT-scan and endoscope
To rule out any related medical causes in their scope

When I checked my Cobra coverage on Monday
Both facilities for tests were out of network in pay
One in error and other bill at in-network price for all
God solved by Wednesday after several phone calls

CT-scan of sinuses and neck was done on Tuesday
Still waiting for a call with results as of Thursday
Endoscope of throat area will be 28th of February
Scheduled procedure is done as outpatient surgery

Both of those test outcomes disability likes to see
Evidence angles of my condition looked at closely
Combined with doctor's report should be an asset
Maybe help to avoid delays in receiving benefits

Lord, I believe You have the door of opportunity
Waiting to open up in Your time by its availability
When I am discouraged, give me hope to persevere
I know You are always with me and hear every prayer

Filing for disability is not the end and certainly not a crutch
Lord, You are aware of all my needs and love me very much
You created my voice and understand my physical limitations
Not a barrier to You, for You see me complete without exception

NOTE:  Friday, I received the CT-scan results.  While no signs of
a mass or tumors were found (which is definitely praiseworthy),
there is an area on the film that is unclear.  They recommended a
scope be done for further analysis, already scheduled for Feb. 28th
as outpatient surgery.  They also indicated two nodules on my thyroid
gland, with the recommendation of an ultrasound.  I asked for that test
to be placed on hold for right now, due to my current financial situation.
