Lightning flashes, the rain beats down
Thunder crashes tormenting the ground
Hearing the winds languishing howl
See the tree branches stiffly bow
To the raging thundercloud
That was so calm at dawn
The day has hidden her face
And night has come to take her place
To wash away the burn marks of the sun
And replenish the spring of life for none
Wanting the earth's drink
So special to all
My rest will turn to slumber soon
As I close my eyes to the half hid moon
And listen to the arguments between wind and rain
Gently whispering at the windowpane
Soon to disappear from the conscious lane
Only to remain in my dreams
