 Depository Of Dust

City Council voted to tear down the place,
Needing more room for some parking space
For The limousine of the mayor, "His Grace",
The city's main entry in the human race...

It really wasn't needed in this modern day.
People so seldom went there at all anyway.
I thought it worthwhile but what can I say?
Nobody asked for me to join in the fray...

It was old, it was ancient, and musty of smell.
Lack of membership was really its death knell.
Everyone said it had no excitement to sell.
Only a few of us would miss it, but, Oh well!...

There had been talk of demolition in days of yore.
City Law of Beautification had opened the door.
The parking surely was needed as never before.
Besides, who in the world reads books anymore....
