SOWN

Lying fallow in my mind
Are shadows waiting on
The time when once more
I sow the errant seeds of memories.

Knowing that tilling the fertile soil
of memories and mingling
With the shadows of olden times
Shall only have me stepping into
Furrows I ploughed of lost dreams

But there are times we, or at least I
Need to revisit fallow fields of yesterday.
The ideas sown today may allow
me recapture the ideals of old memories.

I can only wander in idleness trampling
seeds in fertile furrows of memories.
Hoping the stalks shall not wither as they
once did but let me taste  the bittersweet
dreams lying fallow in my yesterdays.
