Of gold, purple, white and blue blooms the simple crocus
It comes not of magic tricks or ho-cos pocos.
Just from a simple bulb that is planted in the ground
When Autumn is upon us and leaves are falling all around
February and March her colours are in full bloom
laying across the ground like silks on a loom.
Her carpet of colours blended in with the green
Is the start of spring such a sight to be seen.
The simple crocus what a beautiful flower that will fade
and die before any April shower
A year will pass and she will Bloom no more
Until next spring starts to open her door.
Her colours will be stronger and her multitude grown, only
beneath the earth her bulbs have self sown.
