 Patiently Waiting

Life awaits outside my sheltered existence.
Knowledge only obtained by one opening;
A small window; curtains pulled.
Sitting in a easy chair, patiently waiting…
Magic will happen someday, my thoughts subdued;
A bottle of champagne chilled, dressed to impress,
Gentle music softly plays, creating the fantasy.
Patiently waiting for love;
Patiently waiting for romance;
Patiently waiting for passion;
Patiently waiting…

Growing older by the day… by the month… by the year;
Time to reevaluate this plan of inaction.
Standing, looking around at the dust from time;
My patience is strong, but nothing has happened.
I open the curtains of the small window,
Letting in the Spring's radiant sun.
Unlocking the old sash, throwing it open!
Patiently waiting for love;
Patiently waiting for romance;
Patiently waiting for passion;
Patiently waiting…

A warmth swiftly floats into my chilled face;
The fragrances of Spring delight my nose.
A nice breeze blows bringing in freshness;
Listening to the birds sing, the bees buzz.
Overcome with desire, I kick out the screen…
Thrusting my head out, I'm born again.
Escaping through the window into a new life.
No longer patiently waiting for love;
No longer patiently waiting for romance;
No longer patiently waiting for passion;
No longer patiently waiting…
