Poetic Verses

In Shadows

Behind the shadows hidden
are treasures some won't know
Their mighty Constitution
tended carefully to grow

Behind those large and tall
Behind those loud and strong
A proud and steady lot
without adoring throng

For all those treasures left behind
in shadows of the other
The multitude of innocent
left in wait will smother

Unglorified, unnoticed
for every deed ensued
a sad and lonely existence
for a sad and lonely brood

Yet, on the multitudes tarry
to daily rough and tumble
of attempts tho' great or small
that sometimes lead to stumble

In the shadows of our lives
in respite we may recline
but whether small or mighty
in self we'll always shine
