On the fourth cycle of waxing Moon
I meditate on Goddess Sri Lalita, who
Assumes the form of Bherunda!
~*~
I bow to Bherunda, the Lady fearsome
And beautiful, who has three lovely eyes
Whose body resembles molten gold, and
Who shines with beautiful ornaments
On all Her hands, arms, waist, and feet,
Who strikes terror when She lifts thunder bolt,
And who rides on Garuda, the celestial bird,
May destroy all poisons and all my enemies!
~*~
May that Goddess whose face shines like
The full moon, and whose charming smile
Brightens the quarters with its beautiful light
Remove the fears and fevers, and protect us
From the illness and sorrows caused by ill fate!
Mother Bherunda, who cuts off the egos of men
May cut off the heads of our enemies if they
Contemplate to lift a weapon against our men!
