Drifting pages
As my pen drifts ‘cross the page
Encompassing my thoughts in rage.
Terrified I steal to see
Nothing that resembles me.
I fill my life with craziness
Can't find the truth so I digress.
Lucid dreams cause me to stray
Frozen fears demand I stay.
Spools of laughter assault my mind
Splashing colors on all I find.
My illusions manifest so real
Drowning all the love I feel.
A picture blurred comes out to show
The stupidity of what I know.
Smoke filled rooms cloud up my brain
Can't understand just who's to blame.
Whites and blues kiss yellow skies
Breaking up my feeble tries.
It causes me to gradually
Become the man I thought I'd be.
Obliviously not what I want
I look at it so nonchalant.
Imagery that is the trend
Has morphed to nightmares in the end.
Now my words lay here dead
Locked into the dreams I dread.
Because I lack some precious sleep
All through the night I sit and weep.
Ideas bouncing off the wall
The portrait of me is so small.
I am a form that I can't see
Fighting invisibility.
My mind is numb and cannot feel
That manuscript I think is real.
I'll spend my sleepless nights in rage
As my pen drifts ‘cross the page.
