The Movie Zone--By Krysta Ray
The movie runs across the screen
But she barely watches for she is watching him.
He who has become her world
He who is her best friend
He who knows her better than anyone
He who loves her the wrong way
As a car crashes into another
She slowly whispers “I love you”
He looks over with question in his sea-green eyes and
Asks her what she said
“Oh nothing just that I love…”
That pause hangs in the air
He smiles “I love you too”
But she smiles half-heartily for she knows
She knows he adds “bestie” on the end
She chooses not to her that
Yet, it still sinks in and breaks her heart.
She looks next to him and sees her,
Her, the girlfriend, glaring at them both.
How could her best friend since 1st grade be so clueless?
She sighs and tries to watch the movie.
She keeps stealing glances
They break her heart
She sighs, says she getting more popcorn,
Steps out of the theater and cries.
