Listening to the Wolf
I sat next to a wolf today
And could hear clouds pass overhead
I stoked it gently on the neck
And this is what it said
Kiss only the lips that move you
Touch they eyes of those you love
Show your heart to her so she know it true
Give her pedestal and place her just above
Don’t kiss her just in lust
Just kiss her with your soul
In time she’ll learn to trust
Her mind is but your goal
Don’t be scared to take her hand
And to lead her in your ways
Show her you’re alone but not a one man band
Enjoy her gentle touch and listen to what she says
Show her both tenderness and passion
Admire her from top to toe
Never give her love on ration
Just give her water to make it grow.
When you imagine her lying naked
Don’t forget just who she is
She is something sacred
Cover her and gently place your kiss.
Take her above the mountains
Let her touch the moon and stars
Wash her hair in fountains
And wish away her scars
Do these things each and every day
Or at least as often as you can
Then rejoice when she turns to you and says
You listened to the wolf today
For that you are my man.
