 New Hope
Life assails me from every side;
My brain is wrung out, it is deep fried.
Hope is crushed like a cigarette butt,
Entrapped in the road's muddy rut.
I lower my head, ready to quit,
Everything has now turned to #!it.
Aimlessly wandering, nearly dead;
Life attacks me, fills me with dread.
Hope has evaporated with the morning dew,
Everything is topsy-turvy, is totally askew.
Through my tears, I look up into the morning sun;
I see the details of my life untied and undone.
Wisdom comes crashing into my bound brain,
Opening my eyes to the truth; was I insane?
A seed of faith is born again in my heart;
Freshness sweeps in, I have a new start.
Life clicks into place, now I begin to cope,
As God pours power through a new hope.
