Go fly a kite
Your out of your tree
What goes up comes down
My kite was always the first to crash
So when my friends--drunk
Said, "lets go parachuting!"
One of the girls less drunk than I
Said, "You aren't getting me up there!"
She became my girlfriend
Although later she said,
"Go fly a kite!"
It was news
"14 our of 21+ parachute-rs hung up in wires,
Trees, landing on the highway broken bones."
Not me I watched far below no longer drunk
Second time--we were landing in Japan
Three engines out put on the parachutes.
"I am going down with the pilot!"
On one engine we did make a safe landing
Went up in a hot air balloon once
We landed in some neighbors front yard
What goes up comes down and sometimes crashes
Pilot down--My poem as a medic in a helicopter
Looking and finding a downed pilot
Well, that was part of why we join the military
I am too old for kite flying today
Climbing up in those trees not as easy
At least as it used to be for I was
always told to go fly a kite.
