3) HELP ME TO TRUST

(The Hurting One )

Who can set me free from this pain ?

Is there anyone who can help ?

Is there anyone who understands - or even cares ?

Can anyone untangle so many painful memories -without adding to the trauma ?

Without tearing every nerve - and closing down the system..?

Is there anyone that skillful ?

If there is - please let me know ...

Only - don't give me pretences or vain promises ..

If you can't tell me - then let me be ..

I'm safer as I am - even if this may not be the best .

But I can feel the walls around me ...

However cold and dark they are to touch -

They are familiar .

To pull them down - and expose my pain - would leave me helpless ..

Like a snail outside its shell - with no way back ..

Vulnerable - paralysed - expectant of the worst .

But if you know - then tell me ..

I've heard it said - there's ONE who cares -

Who is gentle - but strong ..

Who handles fragile things with love -

Whatever that means ..

But it sounds good - even though I tremble at the thought ..

Somehow I know it is dependent on my trust ..

So - Help Me To Trust ...

I'm scared....

O GOD .... Help Me To Trust !
