Poetry For Everyday People

Me Be Me

You wanted fixed now
but the bridge ain't started
I'm watching my pride
sittin' homeless in an alley

you want me to talk about it
take the shot gun outta my mouth
take the hell inside myself
break it down pretty n' easy

I'm a man baby not butter
bourbon taste good to me
your love I do cherish
but let's let me be me

sugar plum ain't pudding
north ain't an easy south
we can't always stress baby
can't always twist n' shout

you want me to talk about it
take the shot gun outta my mouth
take the hell inside myself
break it down pretty n' easy

I'm a man baby not butter
bourbon taste good to me
your love I do cherish
but let's let me be me
