Superior to Angels
The Son has become greater,
And even more so later;
Since He has given a name,
For the angels to proclaim.
God ever said to anyone,
For today you are my Son;
And then became their Father,
Or told to them their Brother.
God never said to any,
Not a few or to many;
In being as His Father,
Or being as their Brother.
He told them not to be grim,
Rather go and worship Him;
Before sending Him to earth,
Conceiving in human birth.
He makes His messengers wind,
Become gusty and rescind;
Makes servant flames of fire,
Of a wild desire.
His reign will be forever,
As His love will not sever;
A scepter for discipline,
Justice for all those who sin.
He laid the foundation down,
Placing His throne and His crown;
At the high point in Heaven,
His foes for footstools given.
