Eulogy for an Angel
Responding to if I was called
To speak of her and heart that soared
Above all things if for awhile
She was but mine, our time compiled
Her heart of Gold came known to me
Through her writes in her I'd see
A chance to breathe, a way of life
A chance maybe to make my wife
Three sons, three parts from womb her own
Each one different but love hers sown
Would be no less for all she knew
Was to be mom as they too grew
A mothers daughter and fathers too
A bit of each of them she drew
Soul filled with passion and desire
To live each day, set world on fire
Painter, gardener. dancer, woman of words
Poetess princess yet to be heard
By many here upon this sphere
As time would call for her held dear
She blazed her trail upon my heart
I'm sure on others, she'd play a part
Of life, of breath before her death
She'd leave something if all she left
A laugh, a smile that stayed with me
A warmth unlike I'll ever see
Before this day would take away
Whom I still love and shall always
My Cracker Barrel Mornings
When night became of days
Days where better briefly
Were short too short a stay
In closing what she meant to me
and those who knew her well
This man will feel her absence
If here I'd kiss and tell
