ROMANCE

one glance, a chance meeting in the street, and
what do we have, the start of a romance.
Romance leads to love, if we’re lucky.
Flowers and late night calls, smiles, laughter.
Then, we fall in love and romance ends, why.

Is love all we need, no its romance we need,
But love prevails, and romance fails.
We sit frozen in love, gazing at TV, reading, busy, busy.
No time for romance we’re married now.
Living life as society demands forgetting, romance.
That chance meeting, forgotten, all we need is love.
Don’t think so. We want that glance that caused romance.

Keeping the love alive we need to strive at romance.
When romance stops, loving fails to be all we need.
Stagnant love breeds indifference, and distance.
We need romance to live and to love, it is romantic to
say, “I love you” romance should never end, when
romance and love are one, that’s when love survives
