I know a Butterfly
I know a butterfly
She sits on petals new
None have her beauty
This is true
Gently sipping nectar
The faintest tremor of wings
I’m sure she knows I’m watching her
And deep inside my heart sings
I have known the butterfly for many years
She has shared with me some tears
And many of my fears
And she still stays true to me
She lessens lightning
When she smiles at me
I think she can probably see
Just what’s going on inside of me
I offer her praise
For her gentle strength
Her golden heart
And her truth
Of all the butterflies
She is the lightest one
And I thank her
For she showers me with sun
