FREEDOM FIGHT

FREEDOM FIGHT

On the reservation they were put
On their life the door they had to shut,
The buffalo were hunted no more
Greed was all the white man ever saw.

Gone was their freedom to roam the land
Braves were restless and formed a band,
They wanted what belonged to them
But this meant battles and mayhem.

This battle came at such a high cost
Blood was shed and lives were lost,
To live in peace was just not to be
The Indians only wanted to be free.

The land was theirs but not for long
At least until the white man came along,
But they couldn`t live side by side
The white man`s greed was hard to hide.

Even now the fight still goes on today
And God help those who get in the way,
The fight for land it still goes on
It`s now called power, greed and religion.

Do you think the fighting will ever cease?
Do you think this world will ever know peace?
Why can`t we be happy with what we have got?
Should history keep repeating itself, I think not.
