Mirror, Mirror
Of better days she was a sight
As once she stood alone at night
Before her friend of many years
Reflecting her as she appears
Her eyes deep blue have lost their shine
For love would have its way with time
Hers once loved by those who came
Deceived by cheat and romanced games
Fragile her state as age has crept
To leave before her all that's left
A shell of beauty gone this day
A once before too often played
Of all the things she still has left
Are but memories and tears she's wept
Solitude has pitched and camped
Its tent more shroud with blown out lamp
Light once shined about, aglow
On pearl soft face, today not so
For only one will see reflection
Inanimate of once perfection
Mirror, mirror, what does thou see
You who knows of vanities
Have I grown old, too old to see?
What's truly left? What's left of me?
But no response will come today
For her mirror too had its day
Of question asked time and again
Of time once then it could not bend
And so she sits beside herself
Of nothing left again is felt
To help her feel alive again
As dormant stands her once best friend
