 once upon a time

TONIGHT

Hi, I’m sitting drinking sherry.
Wow now I feel merry, pour me
another, let me stay mellow, I
know it will only be this night.

Don’t show me the door, when
you think I’ve had to many.
I loved it, when you said hello.
In the meantime, please pour me a sherry.

Am I merry, ever since I sat down the
room has started spinning around.
lets take the night, and the sherry down
to the shore, walk barefoot in the sand.

Guess the drink has taken a hold, feel
unsteady, lay me down in the sand
let the cool night air embrace me. take
my hand and lie down along side me.

lets drink the sherry, tonight lying here
we’re free and merry, gazing wistfully
at the stars all I need is you and the starlight
hold me tight, we might only have tonight.
