Poetic-Verses

Good deed remembered.

One day a voice spoke unto me

it seemed to whisper in my ear,

time for you to leave that world

I now want your soul up here.

Now just you wait one minute

and allow me to get this clear,

you want me to give up my life

and you'll take my soul up there.

I've lived all my life full of sin

drank plenty and also sworn,

and I've even let the devil in

many hearts I've broke or torn.

Sold my soul for a few gold coins

and spend it on women and song,

so find yourself some other soul

one that's never done no wrong.

The voice than whispered softy

it said, " I will tell you why",

I want you up here in heaven

this day sitting by my side.

You're Eighty nine years old today

soon your memory will be lost,

but I remember many years ago

you helped a stranger carry a cross.

You quenched his thirst with water

and you wiped his brow from blood,

you then cried your tears of pity

and you prayed while knelt in mud.

So what I say this day to you

my words they will be done,

for he was no stranger to me

that stranger was my son.
