She sweeps tears from the wooden floor
Sadness remains forever more
As she clings to hope dangling from her dreams
Pictures blur as her tears stream
She slumps to the ground and begins to bawl
Shades of light suddenly fall
To the window her body shall crawl
To peer out the window to recall
Every summer and cheerful dance
Now a winter grip and lonely stance
Against the sun and facing the shade
The silence has been her companion for days
She slams her head against the glass
The physical pain just doesn't last
She continues to sweep her fallen tears
An agonized mask she wears from ear to ear
Like any disguise one must bare
The tears shall brim to the very extent
Until all that is left is a hallow body
As she wonders where her life went
