even closer, for the realm of darkness
has just begun..Open then, the Adamentine
Gates of Hell, cross the river Styx and journey well..
Two silver coins for the ferryman, the Gingerbread Man..
El Diablo, What fills your heart and empties
your brain..What keeps your soul, And what
drives you insane..A certain kind of thirst, a
peculiar kind of lie..A gentle undertaking and
you're the reason why..Alone in your lonely gloom,
resting comfortably in a velvet lined tomb..
Where you wait patiently for your dark lover..
The underscore for this symphonic litany you
hear played out over and over in your mind..You are
walking through clouds of ether, fog all around you,
as if you were blind..Your hands are groping ancient
tombstones, beneath your bare feet,moistened earth,
grass, mud and clay..You entered the chapel, kneeled
down to pray..It's always darkest just before the dawn..
The rooster crowed at midnite as the hourglass ran out of time..
You ate the holy wafer and blood ran down your throat..
It tasted sweet and the air was thick and heavy, Of all those
who came before you and everytime you stop and think..
Why there's a crack in the mirror and blood in the sink..And why
you so fear the light and abhore the day..For the nighttime is your lover..
The Moon your only friend..There is none such like you, beneath the sun,
but when the cloak of darkness falls, the stars remind you,The Moon revives you..
There is no right or wrong..And death is but a dream, Man and Animal are one..
Winged flights of fancy over a sleepy little town, A scream is heard in the
night..The Miller's daughter was found with two unwholesome bites..And the
culprit was nowhere to be found..to be continued..
