Contemplating the ifs
while reminiscing on puffing the magic dragon,
with wicked whirlwinds cleaning out hog pens,
dispensing lethal ink from toxic pens;
Like what if life never ended
and people lived until they no longer wanted to keep(continue) breathing
or what if children never grew up
and remained stuck in adolescence,
would our world be over populated with youngsters,
wild thuggish hoodlums,
and politicians
because the old die young
and the young die old tripping
believing all that glitters is truly worth gold;
The only gold I know is the One True Go
d no matter what the individual calls Her,
Her forgiveness and grace are eternal;
Contemplating the whys,
whens,
and wheres:
Why does the hard-headed rarely learn,
when will the Father's Son return,
and where have the revolutionary Negroes gone?
Will another like M.L.K,
Malcom X,
or Huey P. Newton ever again emerge
from the bowels of the belly of the beast
before she has her last abortion
or will we remain crabs in a barrel
forever holding each other down. . .
