Borderlines

One day when wandering around
He followed a path he'd just found
On and on he followed it still
Though it went steeply uphill
He realised quite quite soon
He was walking to the moon
Standing there way up high
Looking down upon the sky
He decided it would have to wait
Nanny had said now don't be late
He wondered what there would be
For her promised special tea
So he bid farewell for today
To the fringes of the Milky Way
Next time  he'd plan it just right
In case he had to stay the night
When  he looked the path wasn't there
Seemingly  vanished into thin air
And soon in the way these things are
He grew too old to be reaching for a star
